Say & Play with Language--Child Care Provider Workshop

Ashley Hart, Early Learning Community Instructor, from Oakland Family Services will present the Say & Play with Language workshop. One of the best ways to close the word gap is through talking with children, especially young children.  During this session, providers will learn about the role of oral language in literacy success, key milestones by age, and activities to build vocabulary. 

Parents are welcome to attend but need to be aware that the workshop is designed for child care providers. 

NEW REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS AS OF APRIL 1ST:

Go to www.miregistry.org and create a profile. You will receive an email and must respond with additional information.  Then, under "Search for Training" click Oakland County and choose what trainings you are interested in attending. Press REGISTER and the training should get added to your cart. 

You must register for training workshops ahead of time.  You cannot show up for workshops and receive credit.

Aging Brain and Cognition

Dr. Naftali Raz is the Director of Lifespan Cognitive Neuroscience, at the Department of Gerontology at Wayne State University. His talk will be based on research studies about how brain changes with age and how these changes are related to changes in memory and problem solving skills in healthy adults. This research is particularly focused on how individual differences in predisposition to vascular disease affect age-related changes in brain and cognition.
