Event Details

Join us for the fifth presentation of our Healthy Living Series, a collaboration between the Farmington Community Library and Beaumont Health!

Did you know that bleeding is the number one cause of death following an injury? May 19th is National Stop the Bleed Day. Stop the Bleed is a program through the American College of Surgeons to help lay people learn how to help save a life by stopping the bleed. Through hands on practice, this session will teach participants how to identify life threatening bleeding, how to pack a wound and apply pressure, and how to apply a tourniquet. This is a great addition to your CPR and first aid knowledge toolkit!

Michelle Soho, Injury Prevention Coordinator at Beaumont Farmington Hills, has been a nurse since 2009. Much of her nursing career was spent in the ER/Trauma Center at Beaumont Farmington Hills. Michelle's goal is to help reduce traumatic injuries in the community through education.
